PORTFOLIO REVIEW DAY MONTCLAIR ART MUSEUM Saturday, October 3, 2015 12-4 p.m. FREE MAM’s drop-in portfolio review allows high school students to receive feedback on their visual art portfolios from college art admission officers. Please bring up to but no more than 20 pieces of original work in any medium, including clothing, jewelry, sculpture, and sketchpads—or bring digital images on your own laptop. One of our first projects in the darkroom will be creating a PHOTOGRAM. Students will need to gather objects to use for this task. Be creative!
Period 1- Objects are due on Tuesday 9-22 Period 4- Objects are due on Thursday 9-24 Period 6- Objects are due on Thursday 9-24 Students have finished creating their art journals and are finishing up their first few pages. "Please Let Me Introduce Myself" was the assignment. Students had to brainstorm 6 words or phrases that described them and incorporate those into the pages. Journals look fabulous and we're off to a great start!
The University of the Arts in Philadelphia runs a program for high school students on Saturday. There is both a Fall and Spring semester. Students can take classes like Portfolio Preparation, Animation, or Experimental Photo. It is a great opportunity to take a class at this outstanding art school. It is an opportunity for those who wish to pursue an education in the visual and related arts to meet with representatives from colleges accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
